Getting to Know the Gauge Chart for Intuiface Analytics
With the new Gauge Chart for Intuiface Analytics, you can easily compare - at a glance - an actual value with a target or max value.
Our goal with Intuiface Analytics is to simplify our user's ability to collect information from their running experiences and turn that data into actionable insight. Simple words but a difficult problem to solve. The expression "turning data into insight" is a call out to the use of charts to convert a set of disparate data into a pattern or summary that can be used to reach a conclusion, detect a trend, diagnose a problem, or more. How to filter the data, which charts to use, how to interpret the results - that's the tough part.
Our new Gauge Chart has an advantage: it's message is crystal clear. With it you easily compare, at a glance, an actual value with a target or max value. For example, let's say your goal is for an interactive kiosk to be used an average of 50 times each day. The Gauge Chart will immediately tell you that today's actual was 35, more than 50% but shy of the target. A separate chart can tell you that the three month daily visitor average has been 42, better than today's actual but still shy of the 50 visit target. Good to know and easily understood.
The Gauge Chart has three visualization variants, each with the optional ability to display a graded scale alongside the actual and target/max values.
- arc
- circular
- linear
It's a perfect addition to any dashboard and goes particularly will with Single Value charts as the latter can illustrate a trend while the Gauge identifies the current level of success.
Happy insight hunting!
